Hamdard Matab (Free Consultancy)

Hamdard started it services through Hamdard Matab on June 26, 1948 in Karachi. Later on the network was expanded to Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and other cities. At Hamdard Matab, no fee is charged for diagnosis and prescription. Patients pay for medicines only.

Hamdard Free Mobile Dispensaries

Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said started Hamdard Free Mobile Dispensaries in 1963, to provide the spot free treatment to poor & needy patients where the physician examines patients and provides free medicines in the slum areas of the major cities of the country.

Hamdard Foundation Pakistan gradually expanded and enhanced this philanthropic activity and at present Hamdard Free Mobile Dispensaries are treating more than 500,000 patients every year, who cannot easily reach hospitals.

Shifa-ul-Mulk Memorial Hospital

This hospital provides free treatment, for the people living around Madinat al-Hikmah. It started off as a 50-bed hospital, focusing primarily on Unani System Medication. Recently, the hospital was upgraded to a 150- bed fullservice General Hospital (Unani and Allopathic Systems). It is also providing training facilities to the students from faculty of Eastern Medicine and Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry.

The outpatient department now boasts over 10 Doctors / Hakims to handle the traffic of over 100 patients a day. The hospital has departments of Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Otorhinolaryngology (E.N.T), Paediatrics, Radiology, Orthopaedics, with the facilities of Emergency, Outpatient Department, Laboratory and Pharmacy services, including Male and Female General Wards.

(Taj Medical Complex)

Hamdard University Hospital, a 300- bedded hospital, has departments of Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Neurology, Nephrology, Otorhinolaryngology (ENT), Ophthalmology (EYE), Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Orthopedics, Orthopedics, Dermatology and Psychiatry.

The hospital has facilities of ICU, dialysis unit, lithotripsy, physiotherapy, pathological lab, neonatal ICU, diagnostic imaging, emergency, outpatient department and, Pharmacy. It also has the facility of clinical skills lab, learning resource center (LRC), pathological museum and a digital library for medical students.

Free Patient Treatment Schemes

It has been experienced over the years of serving society, that the paying patient coming to Hamdard University Hospitals (Taj Medical Complex and Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital) belongs to the average to low-income cadre, who in many instances, cannot afford to pay out of pocket the cost of their health care needs.

Hamdard Foundation Pakistan provides an annual grant to the Hamdard University Hospitals for treatment for non-affording patients who cannot afford to pay.

Naimat Begum Hospital

Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital, in line with its mission statement, is providing treatment to its patients at subsidized rates as well as the training to its undergraduate / graduate and postgraduate medical students to the best of its capabilities. Located in the heart of Nazimabad, Karachi, Pakistan; Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital (initially named as Naimat Begum Mother & Child Care Unit) started off as a 35-bed hospital focusing primarily on Gynaecology, Obstetrics and Paediatrics. Recently, the hospital was upgraded to a 250-bed fullservice General Hospital.

The outpatient department now boasts of over 30 visiting doctors/ Hamdard University faculty who handle traffic of over 300 patients a day. Naimat Begum Hamdard University Hospital, having the departments of Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Neurology, Nephrology, Otorhinolaryngology (E.N.T.), Paediatrics, Radiology, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry with facilities of ICU, NICU, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency, Outpatient Department, Laboratory and Pharmacy services.

Hamdard University Dental Hospital
North Nazimabad

Hamdard University Dental College and Hospital is situated in North Nazimabad Karachi which imparts theoretical and clinical training to students of dentistry. It is equipped with state-of-art technology in dentistry.

There are 75 dental units for 50 admissions. The hospital provides services and training in various disciplines of dentistry. Apart from teaching and training to students, the hospital extends its services to a large number of patients who visit this hospital for dental treatment at very nominal charges.
